PRODUCT INFORMATION
Traveling wave tube has been widely used during the last thirty
years due to its remarkable capabilities as a reliable, microwave
power-amplifying device. The TWT is still the core element of many
systems used in electronic warfare to space exploration to the relaying
of home-video signals. The design and test engineers favor TWTs
over solid state devices for many applications due to its unique
combination of bandwidth, power output, and gain. The manufacture
of the TWTs requires many critical processes such as high temperature
brazing, precision welding, and vacuum sealing.
TWTA is an integrated unit having a TWT and a power supply (also
called electronic power conditioner or EPC) packaged in a common
enclosure. The TWTA is often used as a main or driver power amplifier
in many microwave test and measurement, satellite and ground communications,
and radar and electronic countermeasure (ECM) systems, among others.
The TWTA is a complex module requiring various control/monitoring
circuits, thermal protection, cooling mechanisms, and front panel
displays.
The Company's main products are TWTs and TWTAs for instrumentation
and general test system applications. These products cover frequency
ranges of 1 to 40 GHz and have output powers from 1W to 70W. The
tubes produced by the Company are consumed for internal production
of its TWTAs or can be sold to other TWTA manufacturers as finished
